This tree grew near one corner of a large lot that has been empty for as long as we've been in the neighborhood.

The lot was along N. Shepherd Drive on the elevated portion that goes over the old railroad tracks near 7th Street.

The tree was tall enough that the interesting top part was visible to cars passing on the elevated portion of N. Shepherd.

Alas, the car dealership in the background eventually decided to incorporate the lot into its operations.

All this is now a parking lot. I haven't had the heart to go back and take a picture.

Here's another tree that was on the same large lot. It was on the fence line, so it may still be there.
